Historical Note
The Messerschmitt Bf 208 (later redesignated Me 208) Taifun was a sleek, low-wing civilian touring aircraft designed in the late 1930s. With its elegant lines, retractable landing gear, and enclosed cabin, the Bf 208 represented the pinnacle of prewar German light aircraft design. Originally intended for sport flying and liaison duties, the aircraft saw limited production during WWII due to wartime priorities.
After the war, the French aviation industry recognized the excellence of the design and put it back into production as the Nord 1102 Noralpha (and later variants Nord 1101 and 1103). French production continued into the 1950s, with the Noralpha serving as a popular touring aircraft and military liaison platform. The design's combination of performance, comfort, and handling made it a favorite among pilots.
With only limited numbers produced in Germany and modest French production runs, the Bf 208/Nord 1102 family represents rare and historically significant aircraft. Few examples survive today, making this engineering documentation an invaluable record of this elegant design.

Why This Collection Matters
This is exceptionally rare documentation for a limited-production aircraft family. With few Bf 208 or Nord 1102 aircraft surviving today, these engineering drawings represent one of the most comprehensive technical records available for this elegant prewar/postwar design. This archive preserves the complete engineering heritage of an aircraft that would otherwise be lost to history.
Engineering Norms and Standards
Documentation reflects German civil aviation standards from the late 1930s, Messerschmitt engineering practices from the prewar period, and French postwar production standards for the Nord 1102 variants.
