These are original factory engineering and service publications issued by OKB-478 (Soviet Union) and WSK Kalisz / PZL Kalisz (Poland) — not simplified guides, not hobbyist plans, not RC or scale-model references. They assume professional-level technical reading ability: tolerances, material specifications, maintenance sequences, and regulatory references are presented as issued by the original manufacturer.

No single unified documentation set for the AI-14 series survives in any archive. What exists are individual publications — service manuals, technical descriptions, user's manuals, and maintenance instructions — issued across different production years, languages, and national certification authorities. This collection consolidates the largest known digital grouping of surviving AI-14 series primary-source documents.

Engine Profile: Ivchenko AI-14R (АИ-14Р)

The AI-14R is a Soviet-designed air-cooled, supercharged, geared 9-cylinder single-row radial piston engine first qualified in 1947 and completing state trials in 1950. Designed by Alexander Ivchenko's OKB-478 bureau as a clean-sheet postwar light utility and training engine, it became the backbone of Eastern Bloc and Chinese basic flight training and light utility aviation through the Cold War and beyond.

Licensed production was carried out by WSK Kalisz / PZL Kalisz in Poland and by Zhuzhou in China. Evolved descendants — including the M14P series — remained in production past 2000.

Current Status

The AI-14R remains in active use in preserved vintage aircraft: PZL-104 Wilgas, Yakovlev Yak-12s, Yak-18s, and Nanchang CJ-6 trainers continue to fly. Type certificate intellectual property is held by Ivchenko-Progress (Ukraine) and WSK "PZL-Kalisz" (Poland). Active service bulletins and airworthiness directives are monitored via the Polish CAA and national sport aviation authorities overseeing vintage and experimental operations.
