The Bréguet 19 (Bréguet XIX) was one of the most consequential aircraft of the interwar period — a revolutionary French light bomber and reconnaissance sesquiplane engineered by Marcel Vuillerme under the direction of Louis Bréguet. Its structural innovation — an internal primary framework of rectangular duralumin tubing linked by steel fishplate sockets, replacing the wooden wire-braced box spars of WWI-era designs — set the engineering standard for the next generation of combat aircraft. The type achieved immortality through its long-distance record flights: the modified Bréguet 19 TF Super Bidon achieved a range of 9,000 km (5,600 miles), directly demonstrating Louis Bréguet's own Range Equation in operational practice.
