Piaggio P.8 Reconnaissance Seaplane

A two-manual historical collection documenting the unusual Piaggio P.8, an experimental Italian reconnaissance seaplane associated with the Regia Marina submarine-aircraft program of the late 1920s.

The P.8 was designed around the demanding requirement to disassemble the aircraft for storage aboard the submarine Ettore Fieramosca. Its compact parasol-wing layout, twin floats and lightweight Blackburn Cirrus II powerplant reflect the practical challenges of assembling and operating an aircraft at sea.
