Argus As 10 C — Engine Manuals Collection

Historical Background

Introduced in 1931 by Argus Motoren Gesellschaft mbH, the As 10 C was an air-cooled, un-supercharged, 8-cylinder 90° inverted V piston engine displacing 12.67 litres (775 cu in) and rated at up to 240 PS (197–266 hp). Its inverted cylinder layout provided exceptional over-the-nose visibility, making it the preferred powerplant for the Fieseler Fi 156 Storch, Arado Ar 66, Focke-Wulf Fw 56 Stösser, Gotha Go 145, Focke-Wulf Fw 58 Weihe, and the civilian Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun. More than 28,700 units were produced between 1931 and 1945.
