Hispano Aviación
Hispano Aviación S.A. was a Spanish aircraft manufacturer established in Seville in 1943, growing out of the earlier Hispano Suiza operations in Spain. The company became one of the most technically ambitious manufacturers in post-war Europe, producing both licence-built variants of German wartime designs and a series of original aircraft that placed Spain at the forefront of jet-age development. Hispano Aviación was absorbed into CASA in 1971.

Licence-Built Messerschmitt Variants
After World War II, Spain acquired tooling and manufacturing rights for the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-2, producing two distinct variants powered by different engines — both of which outlasted the German originals in front-line service by decades.
- HA-1109 — Spanish licence-built version of the Me 109 G-2, powered by the Hispano Suiza 12Z-89 engine; the first post-war Spanish production fighter
- HA-1112 "Buchón" — Spanish licence-built version of the Me 109 G-2, re-engined with the Rolls-Royce Merlin; the definitive Spanish Messerschmitt variant, famous for its distinctive chin intake and its later role in cinema as a stand-in for the Bf 109
Original Designs
- HA-100 Triana — Piston-engined advanced trainer; a transitional design bridging the gap between piston and jet training
- HA-200F Saeta — Single-seat variant of the Saeta jet trainer
- HA-200 Saeta — Spain's first indigenous jet aircraft; a twin-jet side-by-side two-seat trainer that entered service with the Spanish Air Force and was exported to Egypt; a landmark achievement in Spanish aviation
- HA-220 Super Saeta — Light attack development of the HA-200, with enhanced weapons capability
- HA-230 — Avión de enlace (liaison aircraft)
- HA-231 — Avión de enlace (liaison aircraft); development of the HA-230
- HA-300 — Supersonic delta-wing interceptor; designed by Willy Messerschmitt himself under contract; one of the most ambitious aircraft projects ever undertaken in Spain; the programme was later transferred to Egypt where it continued as the Helwan HA-300
