Aermacchi / Macchi – A Century of Italian Aviation

Founded in 1912 in Varese, Italy, Società Anonima Nieuport-Macchi — later known simply as Macchi and eventually Aermacchi — produced some of the most iconic Italian aircraft of the 20th century. From licence-built Nieuport fighters in the First World War to the record-breaking Schneider Trophy racers of the interwar years, and from the legendary Folgore and Veltro fighters of World War II to the MB-326, MB-339, and M-346 jet trainers that equipped air forces worldwide, Aermacchi's legacy spans over a century of aviation engineering.

The Online Aviation Library holds manuals and technical documents for a wide range of Aermacchi and Macchi aircraft. Use the interactive guide below to explore the full fleet by era.
